Angel Aubichon is a Cree-Metis Designer and Co-founder of Indi City. She was born and raised in Northern Saskatchewan and is part of the Peepeekisis Cree Nation. Aubichon became the first global Indigenous Designer to incorporate wearable technology into traditional regalia with a Woman’s Traditional outfit called “ The Matriarch Speaks.” She is a multidisciplinary wearable art designer who attributes her Matriarchal lineage as the blood memory drive behind her artistic expression. Juxtaposing mediums including traditional art, contemporary design and technology Aubichon serves as a visual story-teller speaking to the current indigenization of Turtle Island. Her wearable tech has been included in national and international exhibitions and runways.
