Dallas Abitong is Ojibway Anishinabekwe artisit from Sagamok First Nation, Ontario. She designs, sews, beads and does quill work. Her work reflects the woodland style with a touch of contemporary. As she would visit, Dallas would watch her grandparents make quill boxes, and ask questions about what to do, when to harvest the bark and how to dye the quills. Although Dallas did not start quillwork herself until her grandfather passed away in 2015, she has been busy creating her own artistic impression. Her quilled jewellery consists parts of Creation that is part of where she resides; Woodland floral, bumblebees, dragonflies, berries, and everything else that makes us connected.
