Sheila Demerah is an Anishinaabekwe from Fort William First Nation, Ontario. She works full-time as an administrative support to the Aboriginal Cultural and Support Services (ACSS) team here at Lakehead University, and is a direct connection to the Offices of Aboriginal Initiatives(AI). Sheila has been perfecting her craft for the past 14 year beading, leatherwork and learning about her culture through traditional crafts. As a skilled craftsperson, Sheila shares her knowledge of beading and leather work with other community members and students at Lakehead University. She incorporates other materials in her style, always trying to develop her skills. She uses glass beads and porcupine quills to create a unique style of her own.
