Dorathy Wright created and modelled her first gown when she was eight by turning an old dress into a dining gown with faux fur! Her family continues to influence her practice, including her favourite designer and most significant source of inspiration, her auntie Karen Wright-Fraser. Dorathy began quilting in her twenties. In 2013, Dorathy’s family moved to Norman Wells, and in 2014, Dorathy made sewing her full-time business. Throughout the years, Dorathy learned how to bead and embroider, but sewing is her primary practice focusing on traditional parkas and fur mitts.
