“My passion is my art, and my art is my beadwork” –Karen-Lyne Hill
Karen-Lyne Hill was born and raised on the Onondaga Nation located in Upstate New York. Karen-Lyne’s style of beadwork is a traditional form of Iroquois raised beadwork. Inspired by traditional and contemporary designs, which have been observed and traded by fellow artisans that Karen-Lyne has had the pleasure of meeting in her travels. Karen-Lyne has participated in many craft expositions such as Smithsonian’s NMAI Art Market, Eiteljörg Indian Art Market, the Santa Fe Indian Art Market, and local Arts and Crafts shows. Karen-Lyne was awarded third place in the Eiteljörg Beading Competition, three-time blue ribbon winner at the New York State Fair, and Karen-Lyne was commissioned by the Two-Row Wampum Campaign of 2013 to bead their commemorative mat.
