Summer Faith Garcia (Anang Kwe – Star Woman)
“Place where the Waters Divide”
Owner and Operator of Rez Kat Studio, this hardworking lil momma of 5 kool kittenz is an artist of many trades. Trained in Professional Makeup, Photography, Digital Art, Stained Glass Art and Jewelry Making, Costume Creations, Art Direction, Set Design, and Art Installations.
Much of what Summer creates involves symbolism of people, dreams, culture, events, or issues that have affected her life or those around her. Drawing upon those life experiences of enlightening highs and magically dark lows, is often reflected in her work. Resulting in a mixture of high contrasting, vividly rich images, that can be best described as being “Beautifully Creepy”.
Throughout her career in the arts, she’s had the opportunity to work in a variety of avenues, ranging anywhere from working on sets with many of our popular television networks, heading makeup teams for high fashion runway shows, to working with some of Canada’s top photographers, or just showing her work in some of Toronto’s prominent art galleries. Which has given her the privilege of working with many high profile personalities on numerous occasions.
Summer was also the recipient of several awards in makeup, which included a National Award for Best in Makeup. In addition to this, she has had the honour of working on different mentorship and career coaching programs as a guest speaker and artist workshop coordinator for some of Ontario’s colleges, high schools, and youth events.
