ABOUT US

IFWTO is a multi-platform fashion week of the most distinct and progressive Indigenous-made fashion, craft and textiles. IFWTO celebrates global Indigenous expression in fashion and the arts and its grounding in Indigenous knowledge, ways of life and storytelling. IFWTO is led by Indigenous women bringing audiences an Indigenous-represented and accessible opportunity to connect with and celebrate Indigenous artists and cultural expression.

SEAL FUR & THE GENERAL USE OF FUR, LEATHER AND BONES

IFWTO supports traditional Indigenous ways of life and practices. This support is vital for the survival and sovereignty of Indigenous cultures, land and people. The use of seal fur and seal meat are fundamental parts of Inuit culture, which we support in its use for health, economic independence and sustainability.

We are seeking volunteers!

Gain experience, be a part of building a new and important Toronto event, meet Indigenous designers and artists, see Indigenous fashion! Roles include backstage, dressers, postering, volunteer captain, guest services, Original Makers Space caretaker, marketplace exhibitor supporter, and more...
